Agilatr

Introducing Agilatr

The second best project management system you'll ever use.

Most developers today agree that some sort of agile method is the way to develop software, but there has yet to be a "good" app for managing agile projects.

If you are using agile correctly, chances are your process is different—in some way—from other agile shops.

If you aren't using agile, you are doing it wrong.

Agilatr is not the end-all, be-all of agile project management.

It is flexible Very few process restrictions are imposed by the app. Your relationship with your clients is too important to trust to a soulless machine.

It is simple The best project management system is notecards and sharpies. We're competing with that!

It was made by developers, not managers.

Workflow

Our process focuses on stories and their acceptance criteria (AC). Our workflow starts with a Story Workshop. We depend on our clients to keep their backlog prioritized. We take the time, at the beginning of each iteration, to talk with the client about each of that iteration's stories.

These discussions generate AC, which is like a checklist we use to measure completeness. When we think an item on the checklist has been completed, we'll mark that item as pending. Our clients come through and verify each item (via screen sharing with developers or a staging server) and mark each pending AC as either a pass or fail. Passing AC are done. Failed AC are re-opened.

Agilatr is designed to make tracking stories and acceptance criteria easy. Drag and drop organization and prioritization make it easy to group stories into iterations. In place editing makes correcting small errors simple.
